Brain Bag and Brain Tokens

My family likes to play Zombie Dice.  It's a fun game and I thought it would be nice to have counters that were more like brains to keep track of points.  My husband plays this a lot with our girls so for his birthday I made him a brain bag and a bunch for brain tokens to go in it.

To make the bag I first made a bag base

I wrote down what I did but it was done free hand and I think what I wrote would be confusing.  I used a dark color to help give a little contrast.  I had to use the light pink for the bottom because I ran out of the burgundy.  The light pink around the opening was on purpose since that is the main color.  I used a piece of light pink to divide the bag in half.  I made I think six 48 inch tubes of the light pink, "I" hook dc 7 around.  I then sewed one tube on each side of the divide in a zigzag pattern.  Then the other tubes were sewn on around the bag.  I left too much space between the zigzag on the top so I just added some light pink chains to cover it.

Brain Tokens
The object of Zombie Dice is to get 13 or more brains, so you need a lot of tokens to keep track if you don't want to keep track in your head or write it down.  Here's how mine turned out.

I started off doing them a little different than what I finished doing.  I decided to add yarn around the middle to make them look a little more like brains, the one on the left is what I first made and the one on the right is what I started doing for the last brains I made.

Here's how I made them:
-MR dc 10, sl st join
-ch 2, dc 2 tog around, FO with long tail
-weave close the hole
MR dc 10

close tightly

sl st join

dc 2 tog around

weave needle through stitches around to tightly pull close open hole

after closing hole

wrap yarn around half of brain and pull tight through the middle then do same to other side

after it's all done and just needs tail trimmed off

I was able to make 50 brains before my husband's birthday.  I think to be able to play with 4 people I will need at least 10 more.
