The first Easter doily I made I started last year, and was the thing I was complaining about not having done yet in other posts. I took a break from it for a couple of months then started to work on it again in January before Easter. I was able to get it done with a couple weeks left before Easter.
This is the pattern I used Easter Table Topper .
I had it nice and flat but I folded it so it's not as straight as it should be in the pictures. I decided to use more colors than the pattern called for, I thought it would be more cheerful then just blue and white. I also stopped after round 49, where you join white again. I liked how it looked and figured if I changed my mind I could finish it later. This is my first doily and time using a small steel hook and crochet thread. And though it took a long time, I enjoyed making it and hope to make more doilies.
My mom really liked the Easter Table Topper I made but I wasn't going to give it to her, too many hours spent on it and hell I wanted it! But I found a cute small doily pattern and decided to make that one for her.
This is the pattern, Easter Pastels Doily . I pretty much followed the same color pattern, except for the white. I used the same crochet thread I used on the Easter Table Topper.
I followed advice on this website, www.be-stitched.com , on how to finish a doily for both Easter doilies. I used a cork board for my blocking board. The last pictures show the doily pinned. I didn't starch either doily, mostly out of laziness.
