This is my personal shop. This is the title. On Etsy when you make a shop you make a shop name which you get only so many letters and cannot use spaces, like a username. Mine is MFCshop. Madfoamingcat wasn't available because I messed up when I made the other shop I'll tell you about later in this post. So if you search for madfoamingcat you might get the wrong shop. Anyway this is where I'll put anything of interest that I make. Right now I just have these bags.
Eyeball Large Bag This is an eyeball bag/purse. It's made with double strands of yarn to help keep the shape and make it stronger. The eye has a blue iris, bloodshot veins, and tendon and/or nerve like top. Knotted cord is used as pull string to close the top. Height is about 12 inches, bottom width is about 11 inches, and top with opening is about 6 inches wide.
Small Eyeball Bag This is a small crocheted blue iris eyeball bag, can be used as a dice bag. Closure is pull string handles made with cord. Holds comfortably the amount of dice shown in the picture, dice are NOT included. Height is about 5 inches. Bottom width is about 3.25 inches. Opening in top is about 3 inches.
Small Eyeball Bag This is a small crocheted green iris eyeball bag, can be used as a dice bag. Closure is pull string handles made with cord. Holds comfortably the amount of dice shown in the picture, dice are NOT included. Height is about 4.5 inches. Bottom width is about 3,25 inches. Opening in top is about 3 inches.
That's all I have for now. I hope to be able to put a lot more there. For now it'll probably be mostly crocheted items.
This is the other shop that I run on Etsy. The shop name is Opwrappedinlove. When I first made it the name was Madfoamingcat, but this shop wasn't for me or my stuff so I changed the name to something more appropriate for what we were doing. This shop title comes from my mother-in-law. Her and my grandmother used this name to donate blankets.
My mother-in-law has been donating blankets to local veterans for many years now. She puts her own time and money into them. Then my grandmother starting making fleece blankets as a hobby. She enjoys making them and it helped to keep her mind off the passing of her husband.
Buying fleece fabric isn't cheap, even when it's on sale. I thought I could help them both by setting up this Etsy shop. The prices for the blankets cover the costs to buy fabric for two blankets, we make no profit and do not charge for labor. If there is any extra money we use it towards more fabric.
My mother-in-law and my other grandmother used to make quilts for children in need overseas. My grandmother decided that she wasn't able to do it any more which left my mother-in-law with a lot of flannel fabric, which she and some other family members but a lot of their money into. I told her that I would try and make quilts to sell in the shop and we could use them for the same purpose, to be able to donate more blankets. Right now there are two baby quilts. I need to get my butt in gear and make more.
When a blanket is purchased we donate a blanket to either local veterans or to children at the Akron Children's hospital, my sister-in-law works at the hospital. I'm not going to post pictures because right now we 26 items.
So those are my Etsy shops. Please check them out. Let me know what you think. Is there anything you would like to see in either shop?
