I had a lot of side projects happening this past holiday season. The first was helping my sister-in-law make over 100 isolette and crib sheets to give to the NICU where she works.
Some examples of the fitted sheets we made. Fabrics used were cotton and flannel.
Examples of the sheets on some of the beds.
Christmas Wish
In a local Buy Nothing Project group I'm a part of I saw someone made a post looking for a rainbow horse. Her child had asked Santa for one for Christmas. She had checked many stores but could not find one so she asked if anyone happened to have one they could part with. I didn't have a rainbow horse but I had lots of rainbow material and my new Simplicity pattern 8034. I showed her the pattern and asked if that would work. This is the horse I made.
Dog Rescue Gifts
While shopping for fabric I found this cute animal rescue fabric. It says things like "Take Me Home", "Open Your Heart", "Rescue Me", etc. I made a bunch of different size bandanas and blankets/mats for the dogs at the local animal rescue I volunteer at.
Wonder Woman Bag
Wonder Woman is a favorite character of one of my friends. When I saw this Wonder Woman fabric I knew I had to make something for her. This is a messenger type bag complete with removable gold lasso.

Lego Elves Birthday
This year for my daughter's birthday she wanted her theme to be Lego Elves. This was a little difficult because there really isn't anything for that and she wouldn't change her mind. We decided that we could the elves' powers for decorations.
For cupcakes I decorated them with the colors of the four main elves' powers and tried to use a texture that would represent them as well. For example leaves for the earth elf. I also found a chocolate mold to make keys. Each elf has a key. They use all four keys together to open a portal to the human world.
