Fugly Bag

I have a small bedroom so I don't have room for a nightstand next to my bed.  I decided to make a little bag to hang form the headboard so I would have easy access to my cell phone, glasses, tissues, etc.  I really liked this pattern that Robyn Faye has, http://www.crochetbyfaye.com/ , so I decided to mess with it a little.  The bag itself is something I just did off the top of my head basing it off of Robyn's Congo Stitch Pattern.

This is how it turned out.  The last two show a close up of the front and back of the strap.  I thought the extra strands left from changing color looked cute on it so I left them on.  While this bag is not horrible looking, there is something about it that is odd.  I think it's mainly color choice.

The top yarn I used for the base and the bottom I used for the chain.  Nice colors separately but I'm not sure about together.  So that's why I called it Fugly bag.  It's not ugly but it's not the most gorgeous thing.

Other Crochet Projects

Here are somethings I made from the book Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute by Elisabeth A. Doherty.

The next ones are from patterns I found online.

I didn't have the same colors and I used a furry yarn for the hair.  He stands next to my Tardis cookie jar.

This one I changed a little bit.  I made my own feet with toes and hands with fingers.

My daughter got a doll house for her birthday.  It's two days before Christmas so I made her a Christmas tree for her dollhouse.  I used the linked pattern and sewed on some great buttons and trim I found at JoAnn's.  After Christmas I found some great tiny lights that actually light up using a battery box and added that.
